StarCraft 2 Collectors Edition mit WoW InGame Thor Pet

Vor wenigen Stunden gab Blizzard in einer Pressemitteilung bekannt, dass es neben der normalen Standard StarCraft 2 Edition, die man sowohl über den normalen Handel, als auch über den direkten Download aus dem Blizzard-Store beziehen kann, noch eine weiter Edition von StarCraft 2 geben wird: Die StarCraft 2 Collectors Edition.

Wer die Entwicklung von World of Warcraft schon läger verfolgt, wird bereits damit gerechnet haben, das es auch für Starcraft 2 eine Collectors Edition geben wird. Neben einem 176 seitigen Art-Book wird in der Starcraft 2 CE noch ein USB-Stick enthalten sein, auf dem das der erste Teil von StarCraft samt Zusatzpack Brood War enthalten sein wird. Also der perfekte Weg für alle, die noch keinen Kontakt zum StarCraft Universum hatten, in die fiktive Welt von Terranern, Protos und Zerg einzusteigen.

Nebem einer Soundtrack CD und einer Making Of DVD gibt es aber noch ein weiteres Item für alle WoW Fans: Ein Mini-Thor als WoW InGame Pet, was dann optisch diesem Thor hier nahe kommen wird:

Das kleine Thor Haustier dürfte für die meisten der Hauptgrund zum Griff zur StarCraft 2 Collectors Edition sein, auch wenn sie mit 89 Euro nicht gerade ein Schnäppchen darstellt. Allerdings liegt der Preis der normalen StarCraft 2 Edition auch schon bei 59 Euro, so dass sich der Aufpreis von 30 Euro fast schon lohnt. Im Gegensatz zur normalen Edition kann die CE allerdings nur im Handel erworben werden und nicht als digitaler Download. Logisch, die ganzen zusätzlichen Sachen passen ja auch nur schwerlich durch die DSL-Leitung 😉

IRVINE, Calif. – April 8, 2010 – Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. announced today that its highly anticipated real-time strategy game, StarCraft® II: Wings of Liberty™, will be available both in a standard edition and in a limited-release Collector’s Edition packed with exclusive bonus materials. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty will be available on DVD-ROM for Windows® XP/Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 and Macintosh®. The standard edition will sell for a suggested retail price of $59.99 and will also be available shortly after release as a download through the online Blizzard Store. The special Collector’s Edition package, which is priced at $99.99 and will only be available at retail stores, will include the following bonus items in addition to the game disc:

• The Art of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, a 176-page book featuring artwork from the game
• An exclusive 2GB USB flash drive replica of Jim Raynor’s dog tag, which comes preloaded with the original StarCraft and the StarCraft: Brood War® expansion set
• A behind-the-scenes DVD containing over an hour of developer interviews, cinematics with director’s commentary, and more
